If you're in the process of planning your wedding, you want to make sure that you plan the perfect ceremony. That means making sure that all those little details are taken care of in advance. Here are some tips that will help you avoid any last-minute issues with your wedding ceremony.
Take the Unplugged Approach
Now that you're planning your wedding, you want to make sure that you and your partner are the center of attention. The best way to do that is to take the unplugged approach. Let your guests know that no electronic devices will be allowed during the ceremony. The last thing you want is to have your vows interrupted by someone's phone going off in the middle of the ceremony. If you want to make sure that guests have the opportunity to take photos of the ceremony, provide disposable cameras. That way, you get a wide variety of photos without the noisy interruptions.
Assign a Seat Attendant
If you want to make sure that your wedding ceremony starts on time, assign a seat attendant. Wedding guests don't always know when they should take a seat, which can lead to delays, especially if you don't have a plan in place for such an occurrence. While you're planning your wedding party, be sure to choose one or two seat attendants as well. That way, they can ensure that all your guests are in their seats a few minutes before the start of the ceremony.
Conduct Some Pre-Tests
Before the start of your ceremony, you'll want to conduct a few pre-tests. First, conduct a last-minute ring check to make sure that your rings are going to fit. It's not uncommon for fingers to swell a bit on the big day. If your rings are going to be a bit tight, place a small dab of lubricant on the inside of the band to help them slip into place. Second, if you're going to be using a mic during the ceremony, make sure it's turned on and ready to go. Finally, if you're going to have a ring bearer, have them run through it one last time. This is particularly important if you've chosen young children or pets to carry your rings.
Prepare the Officiant
Once you're married, you'll want a good picture of your first kiss. However, if you haven't prepped your officiant, that moment might not be memorialized the way you'd like. To make sure your photographer gets the perfect shot of your first kiss, ask your officiant to move to the side as soon as they make the final pronouncement of marriage.
